FAQs
What is the data source for RoofTrace™?
RoofTrace™ was built in-house by our data science team and tested in partnership with roofing contractors. It’s been tested against real measurements and typically falls within 10–15% of actual size.
Can I use RoofTrace™ on commercial jobs?
Yes. RoofTrace™ works on both residential and most commercial properties.
Does this replace EagleView or QuickMeasure?
No. RoofTrace™ sits between guesswork and full reports. Use it for quick, credible estimates—not for ordering materials.
How much does it cost?
RoofTrace™ is included with your annual Storm Maps + Data plan at no extra cost. Unlike competitors that charge per report, you get unlimited lookups.
Why is there no RoofTrace™ data on a selected address?
This can happen for a few reasons:
The property is outside your subscription area.
The structure is new or the roof data hasn’t been updated yet.
The system couldn’t confidently match or measure the roof (common with very small).
There may be gaps or mistakes in the source data.
